In the past few years GPM has taken many
steps to incorporate new ideas both in our
office and aboard our vessels that will
better serve our environment.
Shore side:
GPM has converted as much of our office
systems to electronic as opposed to printing
and mailing. Our contracts and billing along
with banking is nearly all electronic.
Vessels:
GPM vessels have many features that are
contributing to both lower emissions. Our
vessels are equipped with the latest Tier 2
Engines which meet the emission standards of
the state of California. Our vessels will
soon be fitted with a generator that is
driven hydraulically from the main engine.
This will allow a diesel generator to be
shut down completely while underway.
Oily bilge water
separators:
GPM has installed Oily water separators
which eliminate the possibility of oil
discharging while de watering the bilges of
the vessel.
