Greger Pacific Marine understands how
important it is to do our part to reduce our
carbon footprint on the environment.
Therefore, we have found ways in the last
several years to implement ecologically
sound processes in our office and aboard our
vessels.
In our office, we have converted much of
our operations to electronic systems. Rather
that using paper and envelopes for our
contracts and billing, we now produce these
items electronically. Additionally, we
conduct our banking electronically. This
reduces the use of fuel to travel to the
bank and saves on paper products.
Greger Pacific Marine’s vessels have many
features that expend fewer emissions. We
strive to meet the emission standards set
forth by the State of California. In order
to meet those guidelines, our vessels are
equipped with current Tier 2 Engines and
will soon have generators that are
hydraulically-driven from the main engine.
This will enable the diesel generator to be
completely shut down while we’re underway.
Additionally, we have installed oily water
separators. These eliminate the possibility
of oil discharging while we de-water the
bilges of a vessel.
